Pro - Continua (Deluxe Edition)

When PRO(kid) dropped his debut album Heads And Tales in 2005, he shook the hip hop scene in a big way. His follow up, DNA, cemented his status as one of the best lyricists the country had ever seen.  Continua features the best in lyricsm, thanks to PRO‘s gritty and enigmatic writing. The producers, amongst them Neo Modise, Brain, and Mojalefa, also bring their A-game to complement his hard-hitting delivery as he rhymes in his signature style. Without a doubt, Makasana, the first single, is one of the biggest tracks off Continua. Other songs that stand out include Amahlombe; Love You Better, featuring Bucie (solely for Bucie‘s sterling vocals); the IV League-produced Anivulen’ Indlela,assisted by Teargas member MaE; and Amasalamuzi.My ultimate favourite song from Continua has to be Chin Up. It’s powerful and inspiring message, coupled with a smooth beat laced with a striking horn section, definitely tugged at my soul. Another banger is the kwaito-tinged, Brickz-featured Umfutho, produced by Trompies‘ Spikiri. Another fascinatingly creative song is Eagle On The Rocks, PRO‘s ode to the brand he’s an official ambassador for.
