Momentss - Pretext EP

We declared our support for Momentss. Their album is the perfect audio accompaniment to modern-day South Africa, a country as beautiful as it is fraught: with corruption; with rising levels of poverty; with a state which has developed hostile tactics to silence its critics (like last week’s parliamentary fracas). Our adoration for the live collective reached peak level earlier today upon discovering that they’d put their entire project up for free download. Their first single was released earlier this week. Titled “The Vibe”, it’s a much-needed piece of social commentary partly directed at draconian tactics inflicted upon the larger public by some sectors of the South African government. Slogans such as “shoot to kill!” – referencing former national police commissioner Bheki Cele’s pronouncements in 2009 that “police must shoot to kill [and] worry later” – and questions about the whereabouts of taxes related to the debacle surrounding President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla homestead automatically set Momentss.

K.O - Skhanda Republic (iTunes)

07 November 2014, K.O released his debut album “Skhanda Republic”. This album comes with a mixture of kwaito and hip hop known to them as Skhanda.The album was supported by the singles, "Mission Statement", "Caracara", "No Fear (FreeStyle)" and "Son of a Gun". The album's first single "Mission Statement" was released in September 2013. It was produced by Brian Soko who also handled production on Cassper Nyovest's "Phumakim". "Caracara", the follow up to "Mission Statement" was released in March 2014. Its music video was the most viewed South African hip hop video in 2014 with over 900 000 views on YouTube. The album's third single, "Son of a Gun" was released on October 17, 2014. Selena Gomez – For You

For You is an upcoming greatest hits album by American singer Selena Gomez. The project is the first greatest hits compilation of Gomez's career and is scheduled to be released on November 24, 2014. For You serves as Gomez's final release with Hollywood Records, having signed a new recording contract with Interscope Records. It features two new songs recorded for the album, some of Gomez's previous singles and remixes of previously released material. Gomez worked with long-time collaborators Rock Mafia on the new material for the album, with Gomez co-writing both of the two new songs. The record was preceded by the release of its lead single, "The Heart Wants What It Wants", on November 6, 2014.

2face Idibia - The Ascension

The Ascension is the sixth studio album by Nigerian singer 2face Idibia, released on July 21, 2014, by Hypertek Digital and 960 Music Group, as the follow up to his fifth studio album Away and Beyond (2012). It features guest appearances from Machel Montano, Vector, Bridget Kelly, Rocksteady, Dammy Krane, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Iceberg Slim, Kim Almarcha, Shurwayne Winchester, and Fally Ipupa. 2face enlisted Leriq, Alton Berti, Bolji Beats, Dezay,Dnyce, Fabio Litto, Femdouble, G$Ol, JaySleek, Kodjo, Masterkraft, and Rolly to produce the album.The album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard World Album chart, and received generally mixed reviews from music critics. By having an album debut on the aforementioned chart, 2face became the first Nigerian artist to achieve this. The album produced three singles, two of which were released in the months leading up to the album release. Terrace Martin - Times [iTunes]

One of the more notable rapper/producer combos in the hip-hop industry today is LA native Terrace Martin. He began his music career in 2004 and first caught the attention of hip-hop heads when he produced a Snoop Dogg track that dropped on Power 106. A jazz lover and talented musician, Martin has released ten projects over the course of his career, including two albums. His most recent project was his 2013 album “3ChordFold” that received great reviews from notable hip-hop publications. Terrace Martin may be less than 12 months removed from the release of his acclaimed 3ChorusFold Pulse project, but that isn't stopping him from blessing fans with another project in 2014. Times, the latest project from Martin, is now officially slated to hit stores on November 18th (that's right, in just over two weeks). According to a press release sent out by EMPIRE Music, the project is set to feature contributions from Robert Glasper, Preston Harris, Javonte, and Uncle Chucc.

Detroit rapper Dusty McFly released his new project, Evergreen, with features from Jon Connor, Scotty ATL, Cardo and more. If the Mustard-esque beat on the track made you think that the Detroit native moved to Cali, just wait until you see the video. Desert landscapes, a man with a Dodgers logo tatted on the back of his head, and scenes that recall Nicolas Winding Refn's neo-noir film "Drive" (shot in Los Angeles) all add up to make Dusty's Detroit residence seem like a thing of the past.

CunninLynguists - The Grouch & Eligh - The WinterFire (EP)

The WinterFire EP, the new joint digital release from West Coast mainstays The Grouch and Eligh and acclaimed Southern crew CunninLynguists (Kno, Deacon The Villian and Natti). The project packs seven tracks' worth of blazing-hot beats and on-point lyricism from the illustrious collaborators. None of the records on the set has previously been featured on our pages. No outside guests contribute vocals to the EP, which is produced in its entirety by Kno. Physical copies of The Winterfire EP will be available exclusively on tour in exchange for donatable canned goods intended for food kitchens leading up to the holidays. Hans Zimmer – Interstellar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Deluxe Version]

Interstellar pairs the creative forces of Hans Zimmer and esteemed director Christopher Nolan, who collaborated previously on The Dark Knight film trilogy and Inception. Chris wanted us to push the limits, offers Zimmer. Every conversation was about pushing boundaries and exploring new territories. This movie virtually dictates that you put everything on the line and keep the laboratory doors wide open and experiment to the very end. It tested our limits: the limits of what musicians are capable of, the limits of what could be recorded, the limits of everyone's stamina, commitment and invention, and I think we got it. I believe that Hans score for Interstellar has the tightest bond between music and image that we've yet achieved, Nolan reflected. And we're excited for people to be able to revisit the soundtrack once they ve had the chance to experience the music in the film itself.
