  • Tsholofelo is the debut studio album by South African hip hop recording artist Cassper Nyovest, released digitally via iTunes on July 18, 2014 and physically released on July 31, 2014 under a distribution deal with Kalawa Jazmee Records and Universal Music. Tsholofelo, which means "hope", is named after Nyovest's younger sister.[5] Work on the album began as early as 2011 and continued on through 2014. It features guest appearances from HHP, Okmalumkoolkat, Bucie, iFani, Riky Rick, Bass Mdlongwa, Ntukza, Kyle Deutschmann, Tshego, Anatii, Skales (credited as Young Skalez), KayGizm from Morafe and Pro. Prior to its release, the album was supported by three free singles, "Gusheshe", "Doc Shebeleza" and "Phumakim", all of which achieved wide mainstream appeal. For his debut effort, Nyovest enlisted a number of producers including Nigerian composer Masterkraft (whose production credits include Wizkid and Sarkodie), Uhuru (which produced the award winning "Khona" by Mafikizolo), and The Order's Brian Soko (who co-produced Beyoncé's critically acclaimed "Drunk in Love").

  • The self proclaimed King Of African Rap dropped his second full length offering DaKAR (Da King Of African Rap) yesterday after much hype & waiting. Its been over a year since the release of his smash hit lead single Boom Shaka Laka. To his credit Kwesta uploaded the full album to Soundcloud to allow fans to listen & review the project before its release. Many fans wondered what direction this project would take following Kwesta’s decision to part ways with ButterBing last year. We did a short track by track review of the project on twitter. Which you can read below.

  • HHP has once again outdone himself with this 7th studio album! Mostswafrika, meaning from Africa in Setswana, is the definition of Motswako (Setswana for mix or mixture). Jabba, as he's fondly known, fuses a mixture of sounds and artists to bring this album to life. As a devotee to the motswako movement, I thoroughly enjoyed HHP's latest release and consider it his best work yet. It's a must have for motswako devotees!! The #MotswAfrikaLaunch (as it was tagged on twitter) was launched at Museum Africa in Newtown, Johannesburg and as one would expect people were all deep into the whole concept of Africanism. The album is a 18 track album, 17 full lengths and 1. interlude,

  • Music from my Good Eye is his debut album through his own label, Motif Records. Born in exile in Tanzania and returned to Soweto in 1992. Tumi Molekane is an MC/Poet who has done countless work on the South African hip-hop scene. "Music from My Good Eye" is a solid peice from one of South Africa's best rappers. The production is thorough and the rhymes are solid. Tumi manages to pull off a convincing sound peice with deep thoughtfull lyrics and warm mellow production. I'd give it 4 out of 5 overall with a big stamp of approval.
