  • Audio High Definitionis the brand new album by Reason and it is officially out today, 21 November 2014. Audio High Definition is the rapper’s second mainstream album to date but he has 3 albums under his belt and few mixtapes. The release comes right on the heels of Reason’s European and East African tour. The official release launch for Audio High Definition will be taking place today in Braamfontein, Joburg as part of a special media gathering.  Audio High Definition consists of fourteen tracks and features Thandiswa Mazwai, HHP, Tumi, Nigeria’s M.I., Bonang Matheba, Donald and Pac Div (USA). Another known fact is that Reason’s lead single, ‘2 Cups Shakur’, has been playlisted on national radio stations such as 5FM, Gagasi FM, and Metro FM for some time now.  Aside from simply focusing on local success, Reason is all set on expanding a wider net that engulfs an audience stretching the world wide. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with a few of the Hip Hop world’s most recognised American male artists such as Nas, Wiz Khalifa and Timbaland at the Castle Lite Extra Cold Music Festival; and also 2Chains and Kendrick Lamar for Miller’s Boom Town Concert Series.  His global tour resume includes countries such as Norway, Germany, Amsterdam, and USA. In his own words Reason insists that Audio High Definition is not about competing with AKA, K.O. nor Cassper Nyovest. "I am competing with major international stars – Drake – Kendrick Lamar – I see myself in a lane of my own  – not comparable with the likes of Schoolboy Q, AKA, K.O. or Cassper Nyovest.” “… real talk, after this I deserve [for] everybody to bow and be like ‘we respect, we hear you, here is the crown… take it’.”  According to the album press release… “What distinguishes Reason from K.O., Khuli Chana, Tumi, AKA and Cassper Nyovest is the ease with which he goes from supreme lyricist, to hit maker without missing beat.”
